as soon as I landed, I put my suitcase in a locker to spend the day without any baggage, took a coffee to go and ended up walking through the streets of london desperately seeking a wastebin where to put my empty coffee cup and other garbage! well, this is a part of london you have to know and accept in order to be prepared for such inconveniences. "acceptance" is by the way the best recipe as I learned that weekend, because it seriously got better as you might see from the picture above! :-)
knowing this thrilling city and its sight-seeing places for eight years, this time I experienced a new kind of city attractions...
can you imagine seeing actor ryan reynolds (from movies "the proposal", "amityville", "x-men", "definitely, maybe", soon to bee seen in the next MARVEL-film "deadpool") and his wife and actress scarlett johansson ("lost in translation", "vicky, cristina, barcelona", "scoop", "matchpoint") traveling with the tube in london?
well, after doing some research I am now pretty sure, that I spotted them at paddington station!
he, good looking, tall, and she, small and blond (and pretty, too, I know...).
this happened on my arrival friday, august, 28th, when i was on the way to meet my friend. I was puzzled because of the similarity to the actor and because ryan looked intensely at me. not being used to getting that much attention I believed that it's just a good-looking random guy. he obviously was with his girlfriend I only saw from behind (certainly scarlett), hugging her... and at the same time staring at me - how disgusting!, I thought. but still flattering by such an attractive guy even without knowing his prominent status by then. both seem to be "down-to-earth" people since they celebrated their wedding with a small crowd in private without publicing pictures about the event - this attitude makes them riding the tube in London credible...
anyway, if he shares Scarlett's view that "monogamy is a natural instinct for human beings", then him looking at me gives the word "monogamy" a new meaning... ;)
in the evening we went out for a drink in notting hill instead of heading the east end as originally planned. so by coincidence we ran into dev patel and freida pinto ("slumdog millionaire") in a pub! they supposedly celebrated the termination of the shoot of woody allen's new flick in which freida is playing part! as you can see above, we were able to take a picture of us all. :)
as if this wasn't enough for the weekend, @ notting hill carnival lovely and cool swedish singer robyn walked by me - I was too shy to talk to her!
at this point I am ready to admit that I was always interested in meeting/seeing famous people. "star-hunting" as my friend used to say, is maybe too strong a word to express this wish. nonetheless, I felt like the universe wouldn't let my desires fulfilled.
but last time in london, I was at a place in my life in which I had given up many ambitions and dreams. ...accepting what my fate would be.
my chat with the slumdogs, exchange of looks with actor ryan reynolds, and timidly letting robyn walk away... that's probably how things work: unexpectedly!
Sag mal, warum rueckst du denn mit der Geschichte von Ryan & Scarlett erst jetzt raus?? Das ist ja cool!
AntwortenLöschenHab noch nie jemanden in der tube getroffen...
