it's all about love...

"in a city of millions... everyone has their own love story... from first love... to love denied... to everlasting love... and everything in between... fall in love all over again..."

there's no such topic as interesting as "love". you can find it in many movies in different manners.
even though paris has the neverending label of THE city of love and romance, new york city has been a popular set for the subject "love", too.
cineasts know that woody allen is THE master of showing the neurotic sides of new york people in love and what love does to people. he is as well known for doing movies with many different couples, showing intertwined relationships and connecting them in the end.

fans of these features don't have to wait long for a new movie of that kind to come out.
it's about new york city. about a lot of people. about love. human love. and love for the city they live in.
but the director is not allen. it's a big number of directors putting their stories altogether into one.
even successful german-turkish director Fatih Akin contributes to it! Natalie Portman expands her skills with it: she is not only playing a part, she also wrote and directed a segment. another one of 12 episodes has been written by Scarlett Johanssen. part of the countless actors in it are Orlando Bloom, Robin Wright Penn, Ethan Hawke (back from his writers' career on the big screen!), Drea De Matteo (known from "The Sopranos"), Andy Garcia, Christina Ricci and many many more...
even though the trailer only makes you guess if the movie is worth seeing, maybe because it's busy showing all the characters, it is very inviting.

by the producer who used the same idea in our european city of love with "Paris, Je t'aime" reflecting the city's own character of love, take a good look here... at "New York, I Love You":
