Yesterday I read Sarah Silverman's tweet about a movie that made her cry and made her think it was the best movie of the year. Making me curious about what a comedian like Sarah Silverman moved so much, I did some research of course and got surprised to learn that Mariah Carey takes part in that movie. Critical versus her since the late nineties when she changed her image into that brainless R&B-doll I only expected her to do film-parts related to music-business and her image - she actually did in "Glitter"! The more I was astonished to see in that trailer that she's playing a serious social work, totally un-glamorous - who would have thought that!?
The trailer certainly doesn't attract a mainstream audience, at least in Europe, since it's mostly talking about issues of a black girl and her problems at home and in social life.
But if anyone is curious about Mariah Carey's job, maybe the film is worth seeing.
