Since I've been a kid I've been going to the same place in summer. And at the same beach district: Patrizia Beach. Patrizia actually really exists. She's the owner of that district. She made it very nice and cosy. There are places where you can relax on couches and drink your coffee there as well as having pleasant conversions with all the people you meet there every year. There is also a restaurant, and of course on the beach itself places that are especially designated for you since you rented them for the season.
When I was a teenager she didn't like me and my friends very much because in her opinion we caused to much confusion and noise. Well, you know, that young people cannot just stay under the umbrella the whole day, right?
Now that I'm an adult and all my friends are either gone or are there with their own kids, i.e. their families, Patrizia and I connect more. She welcomes me always as "la sirenetta" or "bella". And she likes to tell me about her son's adventures.
Even though it's much more boring now than when I was a teenager, I love going there. It's like home. A place to relax and forget about the routine life back at "real" home.
She, too, in my opinion has managed to conduct a pleasant life. As bagnino Roberto (Patrizia's employee) she starts to work there in May, or even earlier to get everything ready for the guests to come.
In October the season is over and everything gets shut down.
Then it's time for her to be on vacation after working hard in the restaurant's kitchen and doing the administration. What she does exactly during winter I don't know. I just picked up the info that she travels to the maledives every winter.
This, too, sounds like an enjoyable life to me. Sun almost all year long... that would be my thing.
