"nothing's permanent, not even death" ... oh yes, I forgot something in my last entry. one sad thing happened last year: heath ledger's death. after his great performance as the joker in "dark knight", he will arise in theaters this year in his last role in "the imaginarium of doctor parnassus". after he died in january 2008 in the middle of the production, director terry gilliam decided to continue by representing heath's character "tony" with 3 other actors: johnny depp, jude law and colin farrell.
even though my favorite opinion leaders in matters of film dislike the film-trailer, it might be worth seeing because of the special circumstances the production had to confront and - of course - because of heath ledger and his acting-mates. premiere in germany will be january, 7th.
The trailer shows powerful pictures which leads to the impression of a good story: diving into people's dreams, implanting or extracting information. on the big screens probably in summer 2010, check the powerful pictures here:
Robert Downey Jr.'s humourous acting will be seen on the screens even twice this year! first in Sherlock Holmes, and then in Iron Man 2! I think, both are worth seeing! (after seeing the first part of Iron Man I felt like not being able to wait till the second part comes out!)
I am curious to see if Dr. Watson's homosexuality will be thematized as it is subtly in the books. directed by Guy Ritchie, with Rachel McAdams (the notebook) in the cast, here a more sophisticated version of Sherlock Holmes with Jude Law as Dr. Watson helping Holmes in the attempt to avoid the end of the world under time pressure. no time to waste, then! take a look at the trailer:
how will Iron Man continue to safe the world by privatizing "world peace"? will he beat Micky Rourke acting as Whiplash? and how's the relationship going to develop with Gwyneth Paltrow? what role does Scarlett Johansson play in this story? let's check it out. here the trailer:
for those who haven't got enough yet of Robert Downey Jr. can get more on his current movie, an "emotionally soaring drama about lost dreams and the redemptive power of music", "the soloist" with Jamie Foxx. directed by Joe Wright (Atonement - definitely a worth-seeing movie!!!; Pride and Prejudice):
Enjoy the movies of 2010!
