happy new year everybody! how was your 2009?
the first half of my past year was kind of dark. in july finally sunshine found the way back to my heart and soul. not only because I seem to be a summer person, but because then suddenly all the good things came into place at the same time. mostly jobwise and with a little help from my friends. all what happened then helped me to see clearly again and to enjoy parts of life, like the little but apparently important parts to everyone: music, film and literature.
the tastes of music, film and literature, the destinations you like to pursue are the things that mostly define a person.
so here are some of the things that defined me in 2009.

always wanting or almost forced by society to appear cool, we should admit that there are also things you cannot deny even though they may be embarassing.
my most embarassing likes of 2009 musicwise are:
david guetta feat. kelly rowland with "when love takes over" and the black eyed peas "I gotta feeling". when hearing them in the mornings on the radio while getting ready for work, they kind of made my day start happily!

in a western world almost forced to be realistic, pragmatic and diplomatic, a dreamy person doesn't have much response. nonetheless, I like to dream and hopefully I am going to preserve this since it makes me human. which is not be found easily anymore nowadays when people are scared to show their true colors. my dreamiest likes of 2009 are:
to find the true and everlasting love. to be popular and accepted by most people, also at work, by convincing them with my true manner in order not to fake anymore. to be wanted. to become a star in whatever artistic way - musically, in storytelling. to become wealthy enough to see the world without worries or having something in my way. to have a life like a beautiful romantic movie. to stay an attractive woman with a younger handsome man by my side who truely loves and admires me and makes me laugh and stay young. to never grow too old. to have 4 kids. to be the coolest chick in a successful band.

the romantic likes do somehow correspond to the dreamy ones. but let's try to define them by movies. this will be hard because I don't remember that many movies I watched in 2009. you might find older ones among the following short list. the romantic likes are:
the notebook - with rachel mcadams and ryan gosling.
the curious case of benjamin button - with brad pitt and cate blanchett.
the funniest likes:
nothing really funny happened to me last year, at least I cannot recall. the only thing I remember is that I learned to laugh again and a lot!
life isn't life when there is no sadness. the saddest (dis)likes:
the end of german vanity fair makes me miss this paper like a good breakfast on a sunday morning. as a sign for the economic crisis it scared me as well as making me sad. luckily I wasn't hit by the crisis and besides I still have the italian vanity fair. therefore it isn't that sad...
...as is brittany murphy's sudden death. at the age of only 32 she died due to a cardiac arrest. it scares me a lot cause at this age it could have also been me. not having yet the feeling of a fulfilled life I wouldn't want this to happen. nonetheless it's sad to have lost such a caring sunshine in hollywood. her family must feel awful. and that is sad, too.
also sad is the unforgiveness and good but forgotten personality traits of an important couple in my life. it's desillusioning how all the good things can be forgotten over a long previously good relationship. which makes the question come up: is there no true happy love that can last over a long period of time?

dedicate some time to the sad things but then turn over again to the fun. one thing which is fun to do is sex. or things that makes you think of sex or that attract you. the sexiest likes are:
peaches - this 1,50m tall 40 years old chick that rocks the stage and whole germany with her vulgar lyrics, I call "pussy-talk", by doing and saying what she wants. in an interview in the italian vanity fair she said: "never be afraid of sex!" easy to say but worth a try!
not necessarily talking or singing about sex, but the sound is extremely sexy: eagles of death metal. I extremely regret not having been at their concert which reportedly was smashing! take a look here to my favorite video:
the vocalist seems sexy to me and the song reminds of my stay in LA. I miss cruising in LA and listening to KROQ!!!

eagles of death metal are also to find among my best rock/music likes accompanied by the latest 30 seconds to mars-album and the latest muse-album. actually muse had a very funny performance in italian tv fooling the host of the show by switching places. the vocalist pretended to be the drummer and the drummer vice-versa. the host didn't notice it at all which shows that she didn't have a clue about the band. very funny for those who knew!
part of the list are also peaches, robyn and after all jay-z conquered my musical heart and soul in the end with his track "empire state of mind" feat. alicia keys. what a beautiful and touching dedication to a beautiful energetic city!

the most eventful time I had was definitely in London at notting hill carnival with peggy and felipe. not the first time in london it still was one of the best. why? because me as self-nominated understatement star-hunter, I had the luck to see 3 stars i really like. the first night we accidentily met freida pinto and dev patel (slumdog millionaire) in a pub and took a picture. at the tube ryan reynolds (the proposal) stared at me while hugging his wife scarlett johansson... and during the notting hill carnival festivities swedish musician robyn walked beside us! besides that, it was a wonderful musical and eventful weekend. thanks to peggy and felipe who let me stay at his place! next year to be repeated?
one-sidedness is dull, only superficial and funny subjects aren't fulfilling enough. fortunately there are also deep subjects that touch you and make you reflect on things. one of the deepest likes is:
the daily routine that makes a couple want to break out and be extraordinary in revolutionary road - a movie with kate winslet and leonardo di caprio.
recognition is necessary for a healthy living. the most succesful like that gave me the most satisfaction this year was my work on 3 promostories working dramaturgically and supervising the production. it was for windwos 7 with stromberg-character "ernie" (bjarne mädel) explaining in his usual comic way the new features windows had to offer this fall. it was liked by microsoft, colleagues, other clients and my company's management. it was a full success!
when in need one is thankful for help by anyone, especially by the loved ones. the most blessing like is coming from my parents. I feel blessed to have such extraordinary parents who don't know any limit to help their children and friends. I hope they stay healthy and accompany my life for a long time.
a fulfilling life is also a life that is inspired or enriched by something. in my case the most enriching like is the birth of my niece :-) I love her each day more and more.
this year, 2010, there already are some plans to look forward to. my trip to brazil is going to be fascinating not only because of the exploration of the country, but also because it's going to be a trip to my past childhood in that world at the same time. hopefully I am going to be able to "re-feel" my childhood's feeling in that cheerful country. another trip is hopefully going to happen: to visit jana and glenn in the phillipines and enjoy the beautiful diverse sides of it with them. most of all the most beautiful beach I've ever seen! I miss the "coffee-cream" sand!
furthermore, I am curious to see my adorable niece growing and my love growing for her. I can't wait to realize the visions I have like playing, walking, shopping, etc.
jobwise I wish to get more challenged and get interesting projects as it started well since july for a more succesful and fulfilling satisfaction.
finally I recommend for this new year "lach-yoga" (laugh-yoga) to all to overcome hard times and stay happy or get even happier.
